Barriers and Benefits of Off-Site Construction in Southern California

Presenting and unpacking the most pressing barriers to off-site housing production in Southern California, this workshop will outline the promise and potential of off-site construction practices to provide affordable and supportive housing in our region. Panelists will present research from UC Berkeley's Terner Center on the status of off-site housing production in Southern California to highlight achieved benefits and remaining barriers. The discussion will focus in particular on the role that affordable housing developers have in adopting these methods and maximizing the benefits that might come from their usage.
